Sending Experienced Retired Volunteers Everywhere
Serving Christian needs Worldwide
While SERVE's primary focus is working with
retired volunteers to help them find meaningful
mission opportunities, we also assist younger
volunteers. SERVE is a partner in The Finishers
Project which has the goal of providing information
to the Boomer generation to help those who
may be considering early retirement from
their first careers to consider missions
as a second career.
Many from the Boomer and Buster generations
are already active in mission. But there
are many more who could become engaged. Their
energy and enthusiasm can do much to inspire
others as they go out to the field and return
to their churches.
SERVE has assisted in placing a number of
volunteers in short-term mission assignments.
Examples include helping in child-care in
Belize, teaching at Daystar University in
Kenya, assisting in medical ministry in Pakistan,
and library work at the Portuguese Bible
Institute.
"A Finisher's Forum will be held in Lancaster, Pennsylvania at the Calvary Church, 105 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster, PA. 17601.The Conference will provide you with the process, purpose and planning tools to begin considering a significant assignment in ministry, either as short-term or as a second-career.
