| This is a continuation of activities that
have been on going
in the BARO Bible School in the Western
Bethel
Synod of the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekan Yesus located in Gambella and an extension of this activity to the Eastern Bethel Synod also located in Gambella. The Mekane Yesus Church has a membership of about 6.4 million in SouthWestern Ethiopia. Activities in 2008 consisted of helping development of the BARO
Bible School where Neur Tribe
people are
trained to be
evangelists and pastors. There is also a need for a new
medical clinic in Adura about 90 miles Northwest
of the school. ![]() |
Graduates of this school such as Rev. David Rambang shown in the photo are out doing
evangelical work and planting churches in the many Nuer Tribe villages in western Ethiopia and in southern Sudan. He has started and pastors four churches of over 1,000 members near the Sudan border. There is a tremendous need for trained Christian leaders
such as Rev. Rambang in this vast area of western
Ethiopia. ![]() The current class which will provide 11 new pastors is shown. Requests to attend the school are significantly increasing thus the need to evaluate ways to expand the facilities to accommodate more students and faculty besides develop facilities for the school administration ![]() Jack Jordan, a missionary's son who has spent many years in this area of Ethiopia, will lead the team going there. He is a very competent designer and builder. He has been there many times and knows the Neur language. It is a fantastic opportunity to meet and learn about the culture of two wonderful tribes. People are welcome to come for whatever time frame they have available. Please join the team with your skills, gifts, and prayers. |
