SHORT-TERM MISSION PROJECTS IN 2001

Several short-term mission projects were completed in 2001. These include:

1. Harare, Zimbabwe: Refurbish the Rock Haven Conference Center, March 1 April 30
This project was with the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) and was one of their highest priority construction needs. The facilities consist of an auditorium and several houses and cabins. The project was fabrication of a dormitory which will be used for lodging for participants.

2. Russian Mission, Alaska: Kako Retreat Center, May 23 June 9
Our team assisted in building facilities for this non-denominational center which provides Christ centered retreats, workshops, seminars and counseling to encourage and help natives living in this remote area of Alaska about 400 miles from Anchorage.

3. Kenya: July 8 22
The purpose of this evangelistic project was to present the gospel to people in the Nairobi and in the Nakuru areas of Kenya. This included street evangelism, door to door and crusade evangelism. The project also included medical outreach.

4. Mabilibile, Mozambique: August 1 31
Our project team reconstructed a church building in Mabilibile which is about 85 miles from Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique. The building was destroyed in the civil war which ended several years ago. Rebuilding the church was one of the highest priorities of the Presbyterian Church of Mozambique.
